John Lloyd Cruz Speaks About Elias & Co-Parenting With Ellen Adarna

A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz says Elias saved him and speaks about the co-parenting set-up with former partner Ellen Adarna.

During their relationship as a couple of actors John Lloyd Cruz and Ellen Adarna, they remained low-key which included keeping it private when it comes to their son Elias. He was born in June 2018 and it took a long time for the parents to share him with the public.

Ellen posted photos of her son on Instagram after two years while it took a year for John Lloyd to do it sharing only a silhouette shot.

They have broken up and since their separation, they have been co-parenting their son, and their set-up is Elias gets to share a couple of days with the father. This year, Elias turned five years old. All is well in their co-parenting.

And recently, the actor finally spoke about his son. In an interview with Boy Abunda in his Kapuso show, he loosened up and opened up about his son and what it felt like when he arrived.

According to him, Elias’ presence in his life is remarkable. He saved his life when he came and he could not imagine how his life would go on if not for Elias.

“Ang dami niyang ibinigay na bago. Bagong kahulugan, bagong duties, mga bagong… all of sudden, iba na yung tingin mo sa lahat,” he expressed. He also became honest of the co-parenting set-up. He expressed that it is little bit challenging.

From his end, he raises Elias “to live without imposing”. He lets the child choose and pick what he wants to develop his capacity to decide on certain things. As for the things he could not make a decision yet, this is where they get in as parents.

“Kaya napakasuwerte ko, kaya ako ay nagpapasalamat kay Ellen, kay Derek dahil iniisip nila yung kapakanan ng bata,” he added. The actor even shared while laughing that Elias has got his “pagiging reklamador”, his trait that he doesn’t want his child to get from him.
