Richard Yap talked about the future projects he wants to do
Kapuso actor Richard Yap showed off his ability to do action projects in the future and not just drama.
Through an endorsement project for a fast-food chain, Richard was able to penetrate the entertainment industry. From that, he was given acting projects and did several drama projects on the Kapamilya network. At the age of 44, he officially became an actor and he said that he is enjoying showbiz.
Eventually, he transferred to GMA and continued doing drama series. However, in a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, the actor said that he could also be good in action.
Currently, Richard Yap’s projects are the primetime series Unbreak My Heart and the afternoon series Abot Kamay Na Pangarap. These are both dramas. His first project on the Kapuso network was I Left My Heart In Sorsogon with Heart Evangelista and Paolo Contis.
The actor admitted that he has always been wanting to do action. “It’s just that I already feel tired just by watching my other actor friends do it. Doing all those fight scenes under the intense heat of the sun can drain you. Maybe I’d do it if our set is air-conditioned,” he enthused.
He said that the best action stars are those who did martial arts during their younger years. “It’s easier for us to do fight scenes. You will see right away if a person knows how to kick, or if he has the proper form,” he said.
Richard added that right now, he is more active in golf because it fits his age and for business dealings. The actor showed optimism that his dream of doing an action project will still happen someday.
He is looking forward to doing this kind of project with Direk Lester Pimentel Ong, the lead director of the Kapamilya action series The Iron Heart. Richard is close to the director and they are business partners as well. The Kapuso actor said that they have been talking about this and people who are also involved in the action series of Richard Gutierrez.
