Following the alleged absence of Pura Luka Vega in the preliminary investigations of his criminal case in Manila, he was arrested. He is now in police custody and his team is planning to bail him out the following day using the money donated by the supporters.

PURA LUKA VEGA – The controversial drag artist has been arrested in Manila because of his viral “Ama Namin” remix performance.
Embattled drag artist Pura Luka Vega faces arrest. The controversial personality was arrested in Manila on October 4, 2023, Wednesday. The arrest is due to his “Ama Namin” performance which earned lots of critical comments online.
For this reason, he was also declared persona non grata in several localities. Pura is persona non grata in Cebu City, Floridablanca in Pampanga, General Santos City, Toboso in Negros Occidental, Bukidnon, Dinagat Islands, Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Occidental Mindoro, and others.
He is also facing complaints from religious groups such as “Hijos del Nazareno – Central” and “Philippines for Jesus Movement”.
And this October 4, Thursday, Pura was arrested for offenses such as immoral doctrines, obscene publications, and exhibition and indecent shows. The artist’s real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagante.
The bail is at Php 72,000.00.
As of this writing, the #FreePuraLukaVega is trending on Twitter at the top list. Many people lambasted this decision and slammed the justice system of the country. They compared his case with the case of other famous personalities who are already found guilty of a crime but remained free.
Meanwhile, in a previous article, Ogie Diaz gave Pura Luka some advice. According to him, other drag artists also could not decipher his point. What he can do, at least, is to issue a public apology with sincerity to lessen the heaviness of the load he’s carrying due to the issue.
Pura was known for his appearance in Drag Den, a reality television series that premiered on Amazon Prime in December 2022.
