HM Student Flexes Impressive Sardine Transformation
A Hospitality Management – HM student goes viral after flexing his humble ulam (viand) “Sardinas with Style”.
Berlito Montoya, a Facebook user, shared a photo of his simple meal with a twist. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and elicited comments from the online community.
Montoya found himself in a situation that many college students can relate to, a nearly empty wallet and limited food options.
The HM student had two friends visiting his boarding house who were craving a meal. The only remaining option in his home was a can of sardines. Instead of settling for a basic sardines-and-rice dish, he decided to take a more sophisticated approach.
“That time, walang-wala talaga akong pera din. May dalawa akong kaibigan na dumating sa boarding house ko din gusto nilang kumain eh ‘yong available stock na lang na naiwan is iyong sardinas,” Montoya said.
The latter used his resourcefulness and culinary creativity to transform the plain sardines into a gourmet masterpiece. He decided to sauté the sardines with some basic ingredients to enhance the flavor.

The creative guy meticulously arranged the sardines, making it look like a dish straight out of a fancy restaurant.
“Ginisa ko na lang at nag-plating na lang ako para naman gumanda at maging sosyaling tingnan nang kaunti hahahaha,” he added.
