Chito Miranda talked about their fellow 90s iconic band
Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda shared his thoughts on the “friendship” between the members of Eraserheads.
During the 1990s, the music industry was basically dominated by bands in the Philippines. Among the top popular bands at that time were E-heads and PNE. They did many albums and popularized a lot of songs that have become the anthem of many Filipinos.
Unfortunately, Eraserheads disbanded but Parokya Ni Edgar continued playing music together even after almost three decades.
In a recent interview on the Updated with Nelson Canlas podcast, Chito Miranda talked about Eraserheads’ friendship that is often being compared to the friendship that Parokya ni Edgar members have.
To recall, E-heads frontman Ely Buendia said that they are not like Parokya or Itchyworms who are tightly knitted as friends. This received bashing as people did not like it when he said “We are never friends” referring to his bandmates.
Chito said that E-heads are good when they work together but they are not like the “bestest best friends.” “They are not the bestest — hindi sila ‘yung pinaka, ‘pag may problema [sa asawa,] hindi ‘yung mga bandmates niya lalapitan, lalapitan niya mga barkada niya.”
The Voice Generations coach also said that E-heads members have different circles of friends and after their gigs, they would hang out with their respective circles of friends. He also shared that E-heads members have different sets of interests aside from music.
The Parokya ni Edgar frontman also shared that Ely has kept the same staff members who he was working with back in the 90s until he went solo.
