Chito Miranda Reveals Why He Accepted TVG Coach Offer

Chito Miranda talked about his coaching stint in TVG

Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda reveals why he accepted to offer to be one of the coaches of The Voice Generations on GMA.

From being the frontman of one of the iconic OPM bands, Chito was able to cross the mainstream shows. His recent project is the search for a new singing sensation. This is not his first time doing this kind of project. He was one of the judges also in the Kapamilya show Idol Philippines.

During that stint, it was obvious that he really enjoyed doing the show. He even shared a photo with his forever seatmate, Regine Velasquez and this had a funny caption.

In a recent interview, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, the band vocalist admitted that he was hesitant at first to accept the offer to be one of the coaches of The Voice Generations.

“I’m always hesitant when it comes to being invited to TV shows because I’d rather be in a band, ang gusto ko lang maging musikero,” Chito Miranda shared. He also said that this is a unique experience for him. However, being a mentor is not really new to him because he did this before when he taught aspiring songwriters.

The band vocalist shared that every year, he, together with Jim Paredes, Ryan Cayabyab, and Noel Cabangon, would teach songwriting aspirants.

Although he was hesitant, he jokingly said that he had to accept this because of his wife, celebrity entrepreneur Neri Naig-Miranda. “Pero kasi may gusto akong bilhin na bahay para sa asawa ko so I’m here,” he quipped.

Meanwhile, Chito Miranda said that he will incorporate into his coaching approach the experience and who he is as a band member. “I think because siyempre ‘yun ‘yung programming ko as a person e, that’s what I’m used to, that’s who I am. So I cannot separate myself from who I really am when it comes to being a coach,” he said.

The Voice Generations will premiere on August 27 and this also features Julie Anne San Jose, Billy Crawford, and SB19’s Stell Ajero as coaches, and Dingdong Dantes as host.
