A Twitter user with the handle vanibatumbakal shared an amusing conversation she had with a ride-hailing app driver. The post quickly went viral online, eliciting various reactions from internet users.
The netizen, named Sophie, engaged in a playful exchange of messages with the delivery rider after making a special request.
According to Sophie’s account, she ordered a bowl of “goto” – a Filipino rice porridge – to comfort her unwell boyfriend. She requested the driver to write “Get well soon” on the paper bag or sticky note.
“Nagpa-grab ako ng goto for my boyfriend kasi masama pakiramdam niya,” Sophie explained.
In response, the driver inquired, “get well soon lang po ma’am wala pong kadugtong?” Sophie humorously replied, “ay sige dugtungan na lang ng ily.”
Sophie expressed her delight at the driver’s cheerful and supportive demeanor, leading her to promptly give him a five-star rating and a generous tip.
Initially, Sophie had written “I love you,” but she received advice to make a revision. This resulted in her choosing a “get well soon” message and adding ‘ily’ to it.
