Class Suspensions for Wednesday (August 2, 2023) Due to Enhanced Habagat

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions due to the effects of the southwest monsoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration reported that the southwest monsoon will continue to bring inclement weather conditions to the country.

PAGASA reported that Typhoon Falcon was last spotted 765 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. The weather disturbance is now outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

However, Falcon enhances the southwest monsoon, which will bring monsoon rain or scattered to widespread heavy rain in Bataan and Zambales.

Habagat will also bring occasional rain or moderate to heavy rain over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Occidental Mindoro.

Various provinces, cities, and municipalities have declared class suspensions due to the inclement weather condition brought by habagat. The class and work cancellations have been made to ensure the safety of both students and school personnel.
