Lovi Poe Shares How She Prepared For Her Pole Dance Scene

Lovi Poe did a pole dance scene in ‘Batang Quiapo’

Kapamilya actress Lovi Poe shared how she prepared for her pole dance scene in the primetime series Batang Quiapo.

Lovi plays the character of Mokang. Her leading man in the series is Kapamilya actor Coco Martin. This is the second teleserye of the actress on the Kapamilya network. When Lovi left GMA and transferred to ABS-CBN, she did the Pinoy remake of the K-Drama Flower of Evil as her first Kapamilya project with Piolo Pascual and Paulo Avelino.

For many years, Lovi was under the management of the Kapuso network. However, she made a major decision for her career in 2021 when she signed a contract with ABS-CBN after her 15 years in the Kapuso network.

In a series of recent Instagram posts, Lovi Poe teased the pole dance scene that she has in Batang Quiapo. “Mokang may isang surpresa…” she wrote in her first post about this.

In the next post, the Kapamilya actress shared more behind-the-scenes shots while in the caption of her post, she expressed gratitude to her “angels” who helped her with this.

“Been preparing for this number and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my angels,” Lovi wrote.

In her third post about her pole dance scene, Lovi elaborated on how she prepared this. She said that getting into character is not just merely a change in costume or outfit. If it requires learning a new accent, then this should be done. The actress definitely understands what certain roles demand an actor to do.

She had to rehearse twice a week for several months in order to do her pole dance scene properly. “Here’s to learning something new — not just how to #poledance, but the discipline it implied, the consistency in training, and courage it took to finish something I worked hard on — bruises, body aches and all,” she wrote.

Lovi Poe also thanked her dance pole teacher. She received words of admiration from her fans and fellow celebrities for the dedication she displayed in order to give justice to her role.
