Lovi Poe and Piolo Pascual talked about their first series together
Kapamilya stars Lovi Poe and Piolo Pascual shared about the pressure that they felt in doing the Pinoy adaptation of the South Korean series Flower of Evil.
The said series is the first major acting project of Lovi as a Kapamilya. It is also the project that features the tandem of Lovi and Piolo. Lovi played the character of Iris who is a police detective who got married to Jacob, played by Piolo, who has a dark past, and eventually this was revealed.
The onscreen tandem admitted that there is a certain pressure but this is more on the positive side. Based on the article in The Philippine Star, Lovi Poe said, ”Siguro yung pressure naman is always good because sometimes, with that pressure, we create something beautiful and with a touch of our own emotions.”
The actress also revealed that she is a fan of the original series. Despite feeling the pressure, she said that it is a good thing because they created something amazing. “I’m excited to see everything na nagawa namin kasi napakaganda talaga, especially na nilagyan ng pusong Pilipino yung Flower of Evil version natin,” Lovi added.
For Piolo, his excitement is overpowering the pressure that he felt. “More than the pressure, it’s the excitement of coming up with a challenge na gawin namang pusong Pinoy, (or) our own version of a very beautiful story such as Flower of Evil,” the actor said.
This was not the first time for Piolo to make a K-drama adaptation. The first one he did was Lovers In Paris with his ex-girlfriend KC Concepcion. Piolo revealed that the new project was offered to him during the pandemic and he easily said yes. He said that he watched the Korean version and he fell in love with it and it is just the right thing to grab this opportunity.
