The Palace denied the rumors involving President Bongbong Marcos.
After his diverticulitis diagnosis, rumors about President Bongbong Marcos having colon cancer surfaced, and here’s a clarification from the Palace.
Previously, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was taken to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City and was diagnosed with diverticulitis. He was then told by his doctors to slow down with work. Shortly after, he addressed the public, saying that he is in good and stable condition.

In a previous article, PBBM also addressed the death rumors that came after his reported hospitalization. According to him, the death rumors were “highly exaggerated,” and speaking to those who are eager to oust him, he said, “Wag kayo munang masyadong excited dahil it’s not a life-threatening condition.”
Apart from the death rumors, there have also been rumors about him having colon cancer. On Wednesday, Malacañang immediately denied the rumors. This has directly addressed the claims of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, who said that the president might have been relying on a colostomy bag.
“Nakita naman po natin ang video, iyong kabuuan kung saan itinaas pa po mismo ng Pangulo ang kaniyang mga kamay habang siya’y kumakaway sa ating mga kababayan at kitang-kita po na ang sinasabing larawan or ipinakitang larawan ni Harry Roque ay pawang kasinungalingan lamang,” Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said.
She called on the public not to believe or spread fake news and asked that misinformation not be included in any discussions. She emphasized that rumors and baseless gossip, which have no factual basis, are harmful to the government and the president and can negatively affect the country’s economy.
Previously, President Marcos Jr. assured the people that he was taking prescribed antibiotics and medication to treat diverticulitis. He is thankful for the concerns and noted that his condition is improving and that he can now eat solid food after a brief period of dietary restrictions to ease his stomach.
