PAGASA Says Habagat to Bring Rains Over Some Parts of the Country

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area is expected to enter PAR, habagat to bring rains over parts of the country.

On Monday (July 17, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area was spotted 1,070 kilometers east of northeast Mindanao. The southwest monsoon will bring rains over some parts of the country.

The southwest monsoon will bring occasional rains over Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.

The monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Mimaropa, the rest of Central Luzon, and Western Visayas.

Habagat and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.

Tropical Storm Dodong has been last spotted at 825 km west of Extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 135 kph.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the western section of Visayas, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country will be moderate to rough, according to the weather bureau.
