PAGASA Says Tropical Depression Dodong to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Dodong will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (July 15, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Depression Dodong will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Dodong maintained its strength as it moves towards West Philippine Sea. It was last spotted at 270 km west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

Dodong gas maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph and central pressure of 996 hPa. The weather disturbance is moving westward at 20 kph.

“DODONG is forecast to move generally northwestward today before turning west northwestward for the remainder of the forecast period,” Pagasa said.

The weather agency has warned the public for flooding and rain-induced landslides due to considerable amounts of rainfall over the past few days.

The tropical depression will bring gusty conditions over  Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the southern portion of Quezon on Sunday (July 16`, 2023).

It will also bring windy conditions over Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon, and Antique on Monday (July 17).

PAGASA raised a gale warning over the western seaboards of Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan due to the effects of the weather disturbance and the monsoon.

Dodong is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility between Saturday afternoon (July 15) and Sunday early morning (July 16).
