David Licauco talked about the real-life boyfriend of his love team partner
Kapuso actor David Licauco stressed that he and actor Jak Roberto, the real-life boyfriend of his love team partner Barbie Forteza, are friends.
The love team culture in the Philippine entertainment industry is alive and still a strong factor in the careers of many celebrities. In some instances, love team partners fall in love with each other, and a real relationship happens behind the camera.
However, there were times when their setup is just for onscreen only. In the case of David and Barbie, their fans knew that the latter has a real-life boyfriend.
Despite that reality, BarDa fans are still very supportive of their favorite love team. In a recent interview, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, David Licauco said that there is no issue between him and Jak Roberto.
David, who is tagged Pambansang Ginoo, said that he does not think that Jak is jealous because he is also an actor and he knows how the industry goes. He also said that they are friends.
The actor also said that he thinks Barbie is not lacking when it comes to assuring her boyfriend. “Knowing Barbie, she is a good person. I think, she is a good partner also,” David said.
When asked if he feels pressured that fans are hoping that he and Barbie will end up together, David said that somehow, feels the pressure.
Barbie and David’s love team started when they paired in the defunct Kapuso historical portal fantasy drama series Maria Clara at Ibarra. They were first called together as the FiLay love team which is a combination of the names of their character, Fidel and Klay.
