Regine Velasquez reminisces about her career in the music industry
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez acknowledges that in the Philippine music industry, it is no longer her time.
Regine is one of the OPM icons whose achievements have become an inspiration to many younger singers. Her journey was not that easy. When she started singing at a young age, her hard work started.
In previous interviews, the seasoned singer shared that she was a “kontesera,” someone who would always join singing contests even in different places.

In a recent interview on ABS-CBN’s “Tao Po,” Regine Velasquez shared that although her talent could speak for her, at the beginning, he received a comment saying that she will not make it big in the industry because she was not that beautiful.
However, the singer proved that wrong. She said that through her talent, she proved that she deserves a spot in the industry and she did.
Regine also admitted that after 35 years of being in the industry, her time already passed. “I know it’s no longer my time,” she said. However, it is a fact that she is still in the industry and still able to do what she loves and she feels so blessed to still have this chance.
She stressed that she knows that there are a lot of younger singers who can surpass her. It is a happiness for her to share with the younger generation of singers what she has learned over the years.
