Jose Manalo has this reaction when asked about the new hosts of the Kapuso noontime show
Seasoned comedian-host Jose Manalo revealed that Buboy Villar called him the night before the first episode of the new Eat Bulaga on GMA.
Jose wholeheartedly followed Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon when they decided to leave TAPE Inc. and transfer to TV5. In past interviews, it was revealed that the new management of the production company behind the longest-running noontime show initially just wanted to retain Jose, Wally Bayola, and Allan K.
However, these three comedians refused the “double the price” offer and cling to their loyalty to the TVJ and the legit Dabarkads.
In an interview, Jose Manalo was asked what he will say to the new hosts of Eat Bulaga if ever they will bump into each other. Based on the article in Inquirer, his answer to this was, “Wala, iko-congrats ko lang sila. Good job kasi may trabaho sila.”
Then, he revealed that Buboy Villar actually called him and apologized. “Si Buboy, the night before ng live ay tumawag sa akin. Umiiyak talaga. [Sabi niya], ‘Kuya Jose, sorry,’” Jose shared.
The seasoned comedienne-host shared that Buboy is close to him because they did projects together in the past. “Alaga rin naman natin si Buboy. Wala namang problema,” he added.
Jose Manalo also stressed that there is no need to compare the original and new hosts f Eat Bulaga. He said that the current hosts of the Kapuso noontime show have their own style and this should be respected.
“Syempre iba ‘yung atake namin sa atake nila, so hindi pwedeng magkapareho halos talaga,” the seasoned comedian-host said.
