Jose Manalo shared his thoughts on Eat Bulaga
Seasoned TV host Jose Manalo said that he will just forget the “utang” that TAPE Inc. has to him.
The debt issue within Eat Bulaga has caught the attention of many netizens and TV fans. It was revealed that the production company behind the longest-running noontime show has debt to veteran hosts Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.
Before the original hosts of the noontime show left TAPE, Vic revealed that the production company already paid him. Reports also surfaced that TAPE paid Joey’s unpaid talent fee.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Jose Manalo revealed that TAPE also has “utang” to him. However, the comedian-host said that he will just forget about this.
“Meron pero siguro maliit lang, pero okay na siguro para wala na lang usapan,” Jose said. When asked if he will not ask for the payment, he said that he has no intention to get the unpaid talent fee.
“Mga ano lang naman tracking tracking lang naman. Okay lang kesa pupunta ka roon magkaka-issue na naman. Wala na. Okay lang, doon naman ako nagtrabaho ng matagal,” Jose said.
He has been part of the show for almost 30 years already. Prior to being one of the hosts, Jose was working behind the scenes. Jose said that he spent half of his life in Eat Bulaga and this is the reason why he can’t betray the show and the people he worked with for many years.
“Sa programa ako natuto, nagmukhang tao, mas lumawak ‘yung pakikisama ko sa programa. Kaya masarap ang pakiramdam ‘pag umabot ng 50 years na magkakasama pa rin kami at sigurado naman sama-sama pa rin kami sa 50 years,” he added.
This is the reason why Jose Manalo was also shocked about what happened to their show. On the other hand, he said he is not worried about this. “Ako kasi nung nangyari syempre medyo na-shock ka. Freeze ka lang ng konti pero hindi ako nag-worry. Nag-worry konti pero… ano kasi mukhang gag* lang ako pero madasalin akong tao,” he said.
