PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (June 21, 2023)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies and rain showers over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (June 21, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is a meteorological phenomenon formed when winds from the Northern and Southern hemispheres converge, resulting in rain-bearing clouds and thunderstorms.

PAGASA reported that Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies and rain showers over Palawan and Mindanao. Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over BARMM, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Palawan.

“Sa Palawan ay magkakaroon ng pag-ulan, pag-kidlat, at pagkulog dulot ng epekto ng ITCZ,” Weather Specialist Patrick Del Mundo said.

The ITCZ and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“Sa Visayas at Mindanao, inaasahan na magkakaroon ng pag-ulan [specifically] in parts of Zamboanga Peninsula, northern Mindanao, and BARMM throughout the day,” he added.

The weather agency has warned the public for flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.

Today, the country will experience its longest day and shortest night of the year along with June Solstice.
