Joey de Leon shared this post after a surprising announcement on ‘Eat Bulaga’
Henyo Master Joey de Leon clarified that Eat Bulaga is not signing off after he, Tito Sotto, and Vic Sotto announced that they are departing from TAPE Inc.
After several months of speculations about the possible things that will happen to the longest-running noontime show, TVJ finally made an official announcement.
On the May 23, 2023’s episode of the show, replays were shown but a few minutes were allotted for the statement of TVJ.
Tito, Vic, and Joey had their closing spiel. They expressed gratitude to everyone who helped them on their journey, especially the Dabarkads. It was Vic who said that they bid goodbye to TAPE Inc., the production company behind the noontime show which is owned by Romy Jalosjos.
To recall, when it was announced that TAPE is now being managed by the children of Jalosjos, more issues surfaced. It was alleged that the new management wanted to change the segments and hosts of the show.
On the other hand, Tito debunked the claim made by Bullet Jalosjos that the show’s management was not having a financial problem.
This announcement that the TVJ made saddened Eat Bulaga fans. Concerns and worries overflowed online. There were those who said that they can’t imagine noontime without the popular noontime show.
On his Instagram page, Joey de Leon stressed that they are just taking a day off. “We’re not signing off … we are just taking a day off!” the Henyo Master wrote in the caption of his post.
With this, netizens who commented on the post that Joey shared expressed hope that they can watch the Dabarkads again. “Kakapit kami sa sinabi mo dati, hanggat may bata may #EatBulaga kaya Pinas wag kayong mahiya magpadami,” Instagram user @ugaycruz quipped.
