A Man Who Ordered Online Allegedly Robbed The Delivery Rider

A man who made an online purchase is alleged to have held up a delivery rider in a disturbing incident. The incident took place in Quezon City, Philippines.

According to the initial investigation conducted by QCPD Station 6 Batasan Police Station, the suspect placed an order for a wristwatch online using a fake name. The suspect opted for a cash-on-delivery payment method for the purchased item.

Upon the delivery rider’s arrival to fulfill the order, the suspect reportedly carried out the holdup. The victim handed over the wristwatch, which was contained in a paper bag. It was at this point that the suspect brandished a samurai sword and menacingly threatened the delivery rider.

Allegedly, the 31-year-old male suspect then directed the victim to accompany him to a location near his residence in Batasan. The suspect led the rider into a narrow alleyway situated close to their respective homes.

Upon reaching an alley, the suspect took the wristwatch and threatened the victim. Fearful for his life, the delivery rider hurriedly exited the alley, desperate to escape the dangerous situation.

The victim promptly reported the incident to the Batasan Police Station, accompanied by his employer. The Batasan Police Station launched a follow-up operation. Their aim was to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.

The police authorities successfully apprehended the suspect. The stolen wristwatch, valued at approximately P15,000, along with the samurai sword measuring approximately 27 inches in length, were recovered from the suspect.

Further investigation by the police revealed that the suspect had previously been jailed in 2021 due to his involvement in illegal drug activities. Nevertheless, the suspect vehemently denied the accusations levied against him.

He stated that he would provide his statement exclusively through his legal counsel.

The suspect now faces charges of robbery holdup, and he is presently under the custody of QCPD Station 6 in Batasan, Quezon City.
