Pinay Teacher Shares Perks of Working Alongside Her Mom in Same School

LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER – Pinay teacher Christine Joy Aguila recently celebrated Mother’s Day by honoring her mother and co-teacher, Ma’am Maria Celeste Aguila.

In a Facebook post, Aguila shared the perks of working alongside her mother in the same school, the Philippine Science High School Main Campus.

One of the advantages of having her mother as a co-teacher is that they use each other as alarm clocks, ensuring that they are never late for work. Additionally, they can wipe each other’s backs after class to remove sweat.

Christine also has an automatic paging system for the faculty center when her mother needs to find her, and they can help each other when students call out “Mam Aguila” in the Humanities.

Aguila also mentioned that she gets free food from her mother’s plate, and she can bring it home if she does not want to finish it. Moreover, she enjoys snacks during meetings, with her mother providing her sustenance like a typical mother.

She also saves on gas and has a companion to and from work.

The young teacher added that she inherited her teaching skills from her mother, which is the most essential benefit of having a co-teacher who is also her mother. She expressed her gratitude to her mother for being a role model and helping her achieve success as a teacher.

Christine is an award-winning teacher who received the prestigious “Metrobank Outstanding Filipinos” award in 2022. She was also recognized by the Philippine Normal University as one of their outstanding alumni. In 2018, Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino also recognized her as an “Ulirang Guro sa Filipino.”
