PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Typhoon Inday weakens but raised signal no. 2 in three areas.
On Friday (July 10, 2026), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Typhoon Inday will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.
Inday was last spotted at 620 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 185 kph. It is moving 20kph at a northwestward direction.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 was raised in several areas due to Inday:
- Batanes
- Eastern portion of Babuyan Islands
- Northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan
TCWS No. 1
- The rest of Babuyan Islands
- The rest of mainland Cagayan
- Isabela
- Apayao
- The northern portion of Abra
- Kalinga
- The eastern portion of Mountain Province
- The eastern portion of Ifugao
- Ilocos Norte
The typhoon also enhances the Southwest Monsoon, which will bring strong to gale-force gusts in coastal and upland areas on Friday and Saturday over most of the country.
Typhoon Inday is expected to move northwestward while remaining over the Philippine Sea.it may pass Extreme Northern Luzon between Friday evening (July 10) and Saturday morning (July 11).
The weather disturbance is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Saturday morning or afternoon.
“Inday is forecast to remain as a typhoon until it exits the PAR. It will then weaken into a severe tropical storm after moving further inland over mainland China,” PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, the weather agency advised the fisherfolks to remain in port due to risky coastal water condition. A gale warning was also raised over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon.
