Aiko Melendez addressed recent speculations about her health condition
Kapuso actress Aiko Melendez slammed speculations that her sickness is getting worse through her recent vlog.
Aiko currently has two main roles. Aside from being an actress, she is also a public servant. She returned to the political arena when she was elected as a councilor in the 5th District of Quezon City.
However, in a recent social media post, she shared that she had to take a break from all of these because she tested positive for COVID-19.
Following the health challenge that she is facing, speculations surfaced that her condition is getting worse. Aiko Melendez addressed this issue, based on the article in Newsko.
The actress said that she wanted to clarify this. She disregarded her time to rest because it was not easy for her to speak but she had to correct the speculations. She is currently in home isolation.
“Ako po’y lumalaban pa rin sa Covid… pero wag nyo naman ho palabasin na parang mamamatay ako o parang naaksidente na ako… kasi sa mga pictures na nandyan po na parang it looked like na I’m really dying..,” the actress said.
She also said that there is no need to use her current condition to worsen her health problem. The actress cited that even photos taken from her series Prima Donnas in which her character had an accident are being used to fuel the speculations.
Aiko stressed that even though she felt all the symptoms of COVID-19, it is not right to say that she is dying and that her sickness is already “malubha.”
“Wag naman pong ganun, kung gusto nyo pong kumita at my expense wag naman po kayong gumawa ng kuwento para ikaalarma ng mga taong totoong concerned po sa akin,” the actress stressed.
Aiko Melendez also said that she is fighting her sickness. “Hindi po ako malubha, totoo may sakit ako pero kakayanin ko po itong sakit na ito,” she said.
