Kakai Bautista Slams Rendon Labador Over Tirade Against Michael V
Singer-comedian Kakai Bautista slammed social media personality Rendon Labador over his tirade against veteran comedian Michael V.
Kakai Bautista couldn’t disguise her disappointment in the comments made by a self-proclaimed motivational speaker against the veteran comedian in a Facebook comment. Kakai joined other celebrities in defending Bitoy against Rendon, who referred to the comic as a “laos.”
On April 29, 2023, Bitoy stated that the first thing any “content creator” needs to understand is the definition of the term “content.” Many netizens agreed with what the “Bubble Gang” and “Pepito Manaloto” comedian remarked.
Rendon, on the other hand, believes that social media influencers like himself are now more popular than traditional celebrities featured on television. He considers social media to be the new mainstream.
“INFLUENCERS are the new celebrities! Kung hindi ninyo kayang makipagpatalinuhan sa mga INFLUENCERS sa pag-produce ng content.. manahimik na lang kayo. MAINSTREAM IS DEAD!!! Social media is the NEW MAINSTREAM,” Rendon said.
Kakai, on the other hand, criticized the social media personality’s pompous tirade. Rendon was admonished by the comedian to keep his feet on the ground since celebrity is fleeting.
“Wag masyadong mataas ang lipad kapatid. Sa industryang ito, hindi na din nagma-matter ang KASIKATAN, and pinakaGoal ay kung sino ang MAGTATAGAL,” Kakai said in the comment section.
Other celebrities including Kuya Kim Atienza and Joross Gamboa also made their response to Rendon. According to Kuya Kim, it is not about the views, but about the substance of the content.
Joross, on the other hand, stated that many people were not moved by Michael V’s message. He stated that quality is more important than quantity and that content makers should have a sense of purpose and duty. Rendon responded to the celebrities by suggesting that they should accept the fact that they are not already renowned.
“Kahit mag kampihan pa kayong lahat, wala akong paki alam. Bakit hindi ninyo matanggap na mga laos na kayo? Masakit na katotohanan yan na kailangan ninyong lunukin.” Rendon said.
