PAGASA Says Easterlies to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the easterlies will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (May 11, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Easterlies will be affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.

“Ngayong umaga po sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon, asahan na ang mga pag-ulan dulot ng pagsalubong ng easterlies and northeasterlies. Kabilang na diyan ang malaking bahagi ng Bicol Region, gayundin sa mga probinsya ng Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Quezon, and even Aurora province,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, and Marinduque.

The Easterlies / Localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Fair weather conditions are expected over Central and Southern Mindanao, particularly Soccsksargen, Maguindanao, Cotabato City, Lanao del Sur, and southern parts of Bukidnon.

Isolated rain showers from Thursday afternoon until evening are expected over Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga, and Davao Region.

The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
