PAGASA Says Easterlies to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that generally fair and warm weather will affect most parts of the country.

On Monday (May 1, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will be affecting the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Mindanao and Palawan.

The Easterlies / Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao and Aurora.

The whole Visayas, and Occidental Mindoro as well as the rest of the country will have similar weather condition.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides may result during severe thunderstorms.

“ITCZ ang nakakaapekto sa Palawan at Mindanao kaya inaasahan natin ngayong araw ay malaki yung tsansa ng maulap na kalangitan na may kalat kalat na pagulan pagkulog at pagkidlat,” weather specialist Obet Badrina said.

“Samantala sa nalalabing bahagi ng ating bansa kasama ang kamaynilaan at Cebu at iba pang bahagi ng Luzon at Visayas, patuloy na mainit na panahon ang mararanasan,” he added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the entire country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
