SHOPLIFTING – A female shoplifter will face charges for stealing worth P15, 000 of groceries in La Castellana, Negros Occidental.

Puregold, a well-known grocery chain in the Philippines is set to take legal action against a certain Gina Perez from Bata in Bacolod City for stealing grocery items worth over P15,000.

The 54-year-old woman is accused of stealing various items from the Puregold branch in Robles village, La Castellana with a total worth of over P15,000 on April 26, 2023.

According to the store guard, Rogemar Naviamos, he became suspicious of Perez as soon as he saw her entering the grocery. He observed that the culprit paid for only two items but failed to pay for the others she was carrying.

Reports say that among the items that Perez allegedly took were 25 packs of Off! anti-bug lotion, 17 toothbrushes worth more than P4,000, and several food items.

Following the incident, the grocery chain decided to take legal action against the accused and file a case against her. Theft is a serious crime in the Philippines and can lead to severe legal consequences.
