Fur Baby in GenSan Earns Praises Online for Saving 5-Year-Old Kid From Fire
In General Santos City, a 4-month-old Belgian Malinois puppy named “Princess” bravely rescued a 5-year-old child from a fire, sustaining burns on her face and paws in the process. The heroic act was recounted in a Facebook post by Jacquiline Rufino Madi, Princess’s veterinarian.
According to Madi’s post, it was around 2:00 in the early morning of April 20, 2023 when Princess and her fur parents were awakened by the fire engulfing their home. In a panic, the family quickly evacuated the house to save themselves.
However, they soon realized that their 5-year-old child was still inside, fast asleep at that time. Without hesitation, Princess’s fur parents rushed back inside the burning house to rescue their child, with Princess following closely behind.
Despite the dangerous conditions, Princess’s fur parent managed to carry the child to safety, but not without Princess sustaining burns on her face and paws in the process.
After the harrowing incident, the fur parents of Princess sought help from “A Heart for Paws Gensan”, a non-government organization dedicated to animal welfare. The organization promptly came to Princess’s rescue, and she was taken to the veterinarian for treatment.
As of now, Princess is reported to be safe and undergoing treatment for the burns she sustained during her courageous act of saving the child from the fire.
The fur baby’s selfless act has gained praise and admiration, with many hailing her as a hero for her bravery and dedication to protecting her fur family.
