Enchong Dee On Accepting Gay Role Again: ‘Unang factor, talent fee’

Enchong Dee talked about the first transwoman character he portrayed

Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee said that the number one factor that he will consider in accepting another gay role is the talent fee.

Enchong is one of the sought-after leading men of his generation. Through his past drama series, he did not just show his acting caliber but also his ability to spread “kilig” vibes.

On the other hand, in his latest movie project, he showcased a different side of himself as an actor. He is the lead actor in the movie Here Comes The Groom which was a sequel to the 2010 film Here Comes The Bride.

In Here Comes The Groom, Enchong Dee’s character switched with Kaladkaren’s character and so he had to portray the role of the transgender woman who is a group of “konteseras” or those joining pageants.

Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz’s recent Showbiz Update vlog featured Enchong as a studio guest. The actor talked about his role in the Summer Metro Manila Film Festival movie.

Ogie asked Enchong if he will accept another gay movie offer. The actor said, “Maraming factors, unang -una yung talent fee.” This made Ogie’s co-hosts Mama Loi and Mrena laugh.

As a talent manager, Ogie said that this is also the first factor he will consider if he is the manager of Enchong. “Syempre, mahirap siya eh,” the actor explained, adding that if he said yes to the project, he really gives his 100 percent. “Kasi nakakahiya,” Enchong said as he considers that the production team comes prepared on the said and he must also be prepared as the actor.

Enchong also said that he does not mind if he will be typecast in this kind of role. He shared that upon checking his past projects, he noticed that he was just doing the same thing. This is one of the factors that pushed him to be challenged as an actor.
