Teves Will Get a Protection from PNP When He Returned to the Philippines
The Philippine National Police (PNP) will give protection to Negros Oriental 3rd district Rep Arnulfo “Arnie” Teves when he returned to the Philippines.
Teves will be guarded by the PNP when he arrives at the airport in the Philippines to protect his safety. The deputy chief of operations even offered to make sure that the required protection was in place as soon as he arrived.
“We want to assure the families and the loved ones of Congressman Teves that the PNP and other government forces are more than willing to provide security to him at hindi niya na po kailangan mag-request,” PNP spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo told reporters.
Teves’ last known whereabouts was in the United States. House Speaker Martin Romualdez made a statement on Friday announcing that he is returning the legislator to face the allegations against him.
Based on the report, one of the suspects in the assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo has named Teves as the suspected mastermind. In the province, their families are political rivals. The PNP stated that they are contacting Teves’s associates to determine when he will arrive in the nation.
It turns out that December had previously planned to assassinate Degamo before he was killed on March 4. Five criminals have already been apprehended, and another was murdered in the encounter.
The PNP is looking into five to six more people who were involved in the crime. According to state prosecutors, three to four people may have collaborated in the assassination.
