Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla Speak About Being Top Celebrity Taxpayers

BIR recognizes Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, and others as top celebrity taxpayers.

KATHRYN BERNARDO – This is what Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla said after being recognized as among the top celebrity taxpayers.

Citizens pay government fees called taxes and these fees are used to finance and fund various social services and infrastructure. Tax plays a crucial role in nation-building and economic growth.

It finances government projects.

Failure to pay taxes is a criminal offense and the person who committed this might face tax evasion charges.

Just recently, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) recognized celebrities in the country for paying their taxes. And among the top celebrity taxpayers for 2022 are reel and real-life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

The BIR – Region 7A Quezon City recognized the couple and other celebrities in a campaign at Fisher Mall on March 8, 2023.

Daniel affirmed that they paid “lots” of taxes in his speech as he received his award. He said, “Maraming-maraming salamat sa award na ito! Maraming-maraming salamat sa dami naming binayaran na tax.”

He hopes this would inspire other Filipinos. This was also echoed by Kathryn who expressed that the recognition means so much to them.

“Thank you so much for this recognition. Malaking bagay ito sa amin and hopefully this will inspire everybody to do our responsibility bilang Pilipinong magbayad ng tax,” she said as she encouraged the people to do their share of responsibility when it comes to paying their taxes.
