Amid the issues of Eat Bulaga show, Joey De Leon and Tito Sotto made these statements.
JOEY DE LEON – “Eat Bulaga” is currently facing some trouble and Joey De Leon and Tito Sotto have these statements made recently.
“Eat Bulaga” is the longest-running noontime program on Philippine television but just recently, there’s been trouble allegedly happening internally. There are rumors that the show will undergo “rebranding”.
This led to another allegation: the disbanding of the “Dabarkads” which include Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
The trio is the face of the show and they are the hosts who stayed in the show ever since it was launched 43 years ago.
And just recently, during the live telecast of the program (March 3, 2023), before the grand finals of one of their segments started, the TVJ sang the theme song of their show. This has touched many viewers who are aware of the internal problems still going on in the show.
Tito then reminded some things to the viewers. He reminded them that the composer of the song is Vic while the one who coined the term that eventually became the title of their program is De Leon.
“O, ha! Para sa mga mas bata pa sa kanila, nililinaw ko lang, ha, ang nag-compose ng kantang Eat Bulaga, si Vic Sotto. Ang nag-imbento ng salitang Eat Bulaga, si Joey de Leon!” Tito said.
His statement earned the agreement of De Leon. He then bantered, “Ano ang ginawa mo?”
Tito’s response was, “Ako ang manager!”
In the same event, Tito aired that there was nothing to change in the production of the show. De Leon then assured the people that they will all celebrate the show’s 50th year.
“Magkikita-kita uli tayo after six years to celebrate Eat Bulaga’s fifty years on television. Kumbidado kayo. Tuloy tayo! Fifty years of Eat Bulaga on television,” he said.
