PASSPORT – Here is a guide on how to apply for Philippine passports and the requirements that you need to submit.

One of the identification documents that is accepted in most legal transactions as a proof of identity provided that it is valid is the Philippine passport. You can apply for it at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Years ago, all the application processes for the said identification document is done personally at the DFA office. There are long queus and the processing may really take some time. Meanwhile, now, there is an online start for the application process.

How to Apply for the Philippine Passport?

Step 1 Prepare your requirements. You need to present your Birth Certificate released by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and a valid ID. Prepare photocopies of your valid ID.

Step 2Book an online appointment. Visit the website for DFA Passport Appointment and check the available dates. Book your appointment and make sure to print a copy of your receipt.

Step 3 Go to DFA on your appointment date. Submit your requirements. It will be checked by the DFA personnel.

Step 4 Photo-taking. Proceed to the window where your photo will be taken. You will be asked to double-check your personal information as well. Make sure that you check all the spellings and details correctly.

Step 5 – Claim your passport. Go back to DFA to claim your passport depending on your preferred speed of release. For ordinary processing, it may take 14 days.
