McCoy de Leon plays Coco Martin’s brother in ‘Batang Quiapo’
Kapamilya actor McCoy de Leon is thankful to be part of the new primetime series of actor-director Coco Martin.
McCoy portrays the brother of Coco’s character in the action-drama series Batang Quiapo which is based on Da King Fernando Poe, Jr’s movie with the same title.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, McCoy expressed gratitude for having this new project. He is also thankful to Coco for giving him this opportunity. “Masarap sa feeling kasi panibagong blessing ito at saka ibang blessing ito na naibigay sa akin ngayong taon,” the actor said.
He also thanked Coco for helping him hone his craft. McCoy de Leon shared that he learned a lot from the actor-director. The partner of Elisse Joson said that he is lucky to have a resemblance with Coco and he was chosen to play the latter’s brother in the series.
McCoy also expressed that he is excited to spread happiness to their viewers. “Siyempre mapasaya ang mga tao talaga at mapakita rin yung iba’t ibang istorya lalo na ang mga istorya sa Quiapo,” he said.
This is not McCoy’s first project with Coco. They also worked together in the defunct Kapamilya series Ang Probinsyano which aired for seven long years.
Meanwhile, another blessing came to McCoy de Leon early this year and it is his reconciliation with Elisse Joson. Late last year, rumors surfaced that the couple broke up. Eventually, McCoy confirmed their separation through his emotional post.
Early this month, the actor confirmed that he and Elisse got back together and this made their fans so happy, as well as their friends in showbiz like Ronnie Alonte and Loisa Andalio.
