Dismissed Police Caught with Illegal Drugs in a Buy-Bust Operation in Isabela
Authorities arrested a dismissed police after being caught with illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation in Isabela.
A 36-year-old former police officer was apprehended with illegal substances in Barangay Calamagui 1st, Ilagan City. The former cop was caught during an Isabela Police Provincial Office o IPPO buy-bust operation.
PCol is correct. According to IPPO Provincial Director Julio Go, the suspect is Rhommel Sotelo y Cristoba, a married former member of the Philippine National Police (PNP) who lives at 18 Venical Road in Barangay Baculud, Isabela, City of Ilagan.
According to the report, one (1) piece of a heat-sealed transparent sachet containing a white crystalline substance thought to be shabu, and one (1) piece of actual one thousand pesos (Php1000.00) as buy-bust money were confiscated from the suspect’s direct ownership, control, and custody. Besides from illegal substances and money, an OPPO android phone and a Honda TMX 125 tricycle were also seized.
The suspect is currently being held at the Ilagan City Police Station. The suspect is being charged with violating Republic Act 9165, often known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
