WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions for Wednesday (January 4, 2023) due to inclement weather conditions.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that a low-pressure area entered the Philippine area of responsibility last Tuesday evening (January 3).

The low-pressure area was last located at 195 kilometers south of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan province. The weather system is expected to bring cloudy to rainy weather conditions over Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Class Suspensions

Overcast skies with rain is expected over Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Mimaropa due to the effects of northeast monsoon.

Various local government units have declared class suspensions due to the inclement weather condition brought by LPA and Amihan. The class cancellations have been made to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

  • Libon, Albay
  • Palo, Leyte
  • Tacloban City
  • Southern Palawan town of Brooke’s Point

Preschool to senior high school

  • Libertad, Antique
  • Odiongan, Romblon

Mayor Gina Merilo of Tanauan, Leyte has announced the suspension of classes in all levels and cancellation of government work in the province due to the bad weather condition. Meanwhile, the management of private companies have their own freedom to make decision.
