PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (January 4, 2023)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area has entered PAR and it will bring overcast skies and rain in parts of the country.
On Wednesday (January 4, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area has been last spotted 195 kilometers south of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan province. It will be affecting Visayas and Mindanao while the northeast monsoon will bring rain over parts of Luzon.
The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.
The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and Aurora.
“Dahil pa rin dito ay makakaranas ng maulap na kalangitan na mag kalat-kalat na pag-ulan sa bahagi ng Palawan, Visayas, at Mindanao sa buong maghapon,” Pagasa weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo said.
The amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough, according to the weather bureau.
PAGASA has also raised gale warning in the following areas:
- Eastern coast of Cagayan, Isabela
- Aurora
- Northern Quezon including the northern and eastern coasts of Polillo Islands
- Camarines Norte
- Northern coast of Camarines Sur, Catanduanes
- Batanes
- Northern coast of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur, La Union
- Pangasinan
- Kalayaan Islands
- Albay
- Sorsogon
- Northern Samar
- Eastern Samar
