Ronnie Alonte made revelations about Joey de Leon
Actor Ronnie Alonte shared his experience working with Henyo Master Joey de Leon in the movie My Teacher.
Ronnie was able to be part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 movie that features Joey and Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga. Actress Loisa Andalio, Ronnie’s love team partner and real-life girlfriend is also part of the movie.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PUSH, Ronnie expressed gratitude for the opportunity that was given to him to be part of the movie.
“Sobrang saya kasi ito yung first na pagsasama namin ni Loisa sa isang Metro Manila Film Fest after pandemic and ‘yung role is parang secondary or bida talaga and kasama namin si tito Joey and Ms. Toni,” Ronnie Alonte said.
It is his and Loisa’s first time together to do an MMFF entry. Back in 2016, Ronnie did a movie for the film festival titled Seklusyon. It took six years before he became part again of an MMFF movie.
When it comes to working with Joey de Leon, the younger actor said that it is a learning experience for him and Loisa Andalio.
“Actually classmate namin si tito Joey dun. Nung una natatakot kami kasi si Tito Joey iconic na eh. Legend na yun eh. Pero the way siya makipag-usap sa amin grabe talaga. Tinuturuan niya kami kung paano sa buhay tapos may halong joke patawa, so ang gaan kasama,” Ronnie Alonte shared.
He also said that Joey would always have his own punchline after a dramatic scene because the veteran comedian-host wanted a lighter mood. This is something that Ronnie admires about the showbiz veteran.
“Kunwari medyo dramang drama na yung script, lagi siyang may binabato sa dulo na, ‘Kailangan ko magpatawa dito. Ito ‘yung punchiline ko. Ayokong maramdaman ng tao na drama ito, malungkot ito. Gusto ko lagi may pambawi sa dulo.’ So ‘yun ‘yun. Ang galing,” Ronni said.
