Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about Earthquake Today December 15, 2022 in Northern Samar
EARTHQUAKE TODAY DECEMBER 15, 2022 – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.7 magnitude earthquake in Northern Samar today, Thursday.
Following the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that jolted Northern Samar a few days ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Northern Samar. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 4.7.
The earthquake today, December 15, 2022, in Northern Samar was tectonic in origin. It struck Lope de Vega at 03:44 a.m.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake today December 15, 2022 that hit a part of Northern Samar was located at 12.38°North, 124.51°East – 016 km North 55° West of Lope De Vega with a depth of origin of 109 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that there are no damages expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. On the records, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well as of this writing.
