Miss Universe Philippines Accepts Mothers, Divorcees, Married Women To Compete

MISS UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES – The Miss Universe Philippines accepts moms, divorcees, and married women to compete in the prestigious pageant.

Magali Febles, the national director of Miss Universe Dominican Republic, posted on her official Instagram account that the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) will begin accepting married women and mothers with children starting with the 72nd Miss Universe pageant season in 2023 since many countries have already chosen their representatives for the 2022 edition.

In a statement she made to The Limited Times news portal on July 13, 2018, Alexia Laruche-Joubert, the president of the Miss France Society, announced that as part of the Miss France regulation for 2023, “the ban on married women and/or mothers from participating is also over.”

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray expresses nothing against wives and mothers joining the prestigious pageant. She said it’s just “timely to allow women in whatever capacity to go after the dream of being a Miss Universe.”

Based on a report from Philstar, the application process for Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) next year is now open.

With the inclusion of married women, aspiring beauty queens can now submit an application “regardless of civil status.” Additionally, required are Filipino citizenship, 18 to 27 years of age, and there is no height restriction. The deadline for applications is January 29, 2023.

Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip, the chief executive of Thai-owned JKN Global Group, just acquired the Miss Universe Organization from IMG. The Thai billionaire “becomes the first woman owner in the Miss Universe Organization’s history on its 71st year.”
