Gas Stations Say Filipino Motorists Will Have Slight Reprieve Over Expected Oil Price Rollback This Week
Several gas stations in the country have announced an oil price rollback this week after two straight weeks of major increases.
Over the past few months, the prices of petroleum products play a very important role to the country’s economy. Pump price adjustment usually causes significant impact on prices of products and services in the country.
The consecutive oil price hike during the past few months contribute to the daily burden of Filipino people especially to those who were in public transport sector. Price rollbacks can somehow ease the struggles of Filipino drivers.
Various oil companies in the country said that Filipino motorists will have a slight reprieve this week due to the projected rollback on prices of petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, and kerosene.
Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Inc. have announced a price cut of P0.35 per liter of gasoline, P1.10 per liter of diesel, and P0.45 per liter of kerosene. Petro Gazz will impose similar changes excluding kerosene which it does not carry.
All oil firms will implement the price adjustments at 6 am on Tuesday (October 25, 2022). Other gasoline stations have yet to make similar announcements later this week.
The Department of Energy (DOE) has also announced the year-to-date total adjustments, which stand at a net increase of P16.45 per liter of gasoline, P38.50 per liter of diesel, and P29.65 per liter of kerosene.
