PAGASA Says ITCZ to Bring Scattered Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring scattered rain showers over parts of the country.

On Saturday (October 8, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will be affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

It would bring cloudy condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Palawan, Northern Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula.

The ITCZ will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has also warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.

Patuloy ang maulan na panahon sa malaking bahagi ng bansa, dahil po yan sa [ITCZ], ito po yung salubungan ng hangin mula sa northern at southern hemispheres, kaya nagkakaroon po tayo ng mga kaulapan at pag-ulan,” Pagasa weather forecaster Benison Estreja said.

PAGASA reported that the sun rise at 5:46 am and it will set at 5:41 pm.
