PAGASA Says Trough of Tropical Storm Karding and Habagat Will Bring Rains Over Some Parts of the Country

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the trough of Tropical Storm Karding and habagat will bring rainy conditions over parts of the country.

On Friday (September 23, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Storm Karding and the southwest monsoon will continue to affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm “KARDING” has been last spotted at 1,245 km East of Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

PAGASA

“Ngayong araw, ang pag-ulan natin ay dahil po sa trough o extension nitong si Karding, sa may silangang bahagi ng Visayas and Southern Luzon. Dito naman sa western section, sa West Philippine Sea, sa western Visayas, mayroon tayong southwest monsoon o habagat,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estreja said.

Estreja said that Karding is expected to make landfall by Sunday in the vicinity of Divilacan, Isabela.

The Southwest Monsoon will be affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

PAGASA

The Southwest Monsoon/trough of Karding will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms expected over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
