PAGASA Says Enhanced Habagat to Bring Cloudy Skies & Scattered Rainshowers

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (September 21)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the LPA enhances habagat, which will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (September 21, 2022), the the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA and southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that a Low-Pressure Area has been last spotted at 1,015 km East of Central Luzon. The Localized Thunderstorms/Southwest Monsoon will be affecting Central and Southern Luzon as well as Mindanao.

The habagat will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Northern Palawan including Cuyo Islands as well as Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

The Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over entire Visayas and Mindanao as well as the remaining parts of the country.

The low-pressure area has no direct effect on any part of the country but enhances habagat. It has a small chance of developing into a tropical depression.

“Bagamat wala pa itong directong epekto sa anumang bahagi ng ating bansa, partly naiimpluwensiyahan nito ang Habagat o Southwest Monsoon na siyang nagdadala ng pag-ulan sa nakararaming bahagi ng Gitna at Katimugang Luzon at ng Metro Manila nitong mga nagdaang mga araw,” PAGASA senior weather specialist Chris Perez said.

The coastal water condition over extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of Northern Luzon and the rest of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
