Lady Solon Criticized the Construction of Catering Area in Malacañang Palace

Lady solon Arlene Brosas criticized the construction of a catering area in Malacañang Palace crisis in the country.

Given the high cost of commodities and the absence of funding for public needs, Gabriela Women’s party list representative and assistant minority leader in the House declared her opposition to the construction of a catering area in Malacañang. Additionally, she criticizes the Marcos family for allegedly using people’s tax money for the project.

“While the Marcos family is busy building a new catering area for their extravagant parties using the people’s taxes, the Philippine peso recently hit an all-time low, and commuters bear the brunt of public transport fare increases,” said Brosas.

On Thursday, September 15, the first lady, Liza Araneta-Marcos, posted a picture of the groundbreaking ceremony for the Malacañang Palace’s upcoming catering section on her Facebook page. Brosas claims that while there is no budget for charity during a time of extreme need, there is a budget for expensive luncheons and birthday celebrations for the Marcos family.

“There is no budget for aid in the midst of severe hunger, but there is a budget for fancy luncheons and birthday parties. The budget for the construction of schools is insufficient, but funds can be quickly allocated for the construction of the catering area. This is peak insensitive and a waste of people’s money,” added Brosas.

In addition, Brosas urged the populace to oppose any efforts to elevate President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at the forthcoming Martial Law anniversary celebration. The First Lady was present during the groundbreaking of Malacaang’s alleged new “catering area.”

The First Lady Marcos’ companions were seen brandishing gold shovels in the Facebook image. Netizens, on the other hand, expressed their various reactions to the groundbreaking photos.
