Beauty Gonzalez did not think she was beautiful
Kapuso actress Beauty Gonzalez had this question for her mother when she was young about her name.
Beauty is Christine Marie Gonzalez in real life. In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, the former Pinoy Big Brother housemate mentioned that it was her mother who gave her the nickname “Beauty.”
However, the actress admitted that she never thought that she was beautiful when she was young. She shared that when she watched the movie Beauty and the Beast and she saw that Belle is beautiful.
“I was thinking with my mom na parang, ‘Talagang confident ka, pinapangalan mo akong Beauty, ‘no?’ sabi kong ganu’n. ‘Paano kung pangit ako, itatago mo ako?’” Beauty Gonzalez shared.
“It is because she was apprehensive about her name. I really don’t think of myself as beautiful, that’s the problem with me,” she admitted. Previously, the actress shared that she had a psychological phenomenon called Imposter Syndrome.
It means that she is doubting herself that everything that she achieves is just because of luck and not because of her ability. On the other hand, Beauty is thankful that she has her husband Norman Crisologo who always reminds her that she is beautiful.
The actress said that she would rather feel shy and uncomfortable than feel like she is really beautiful because she does not want to exude that arrogant aura. “Alam mo yun, iba yung parang feeling maganda ka, tapos wala ka namang ibang nabibigay,” Beauty Gonzalez stressed.
Meanwhile, Beauty shared previously that she is planning to retire six years from now. The actress said that she wants her retirement to happen during the time that she is still famous. However, she said that she is willing to do some adjustments if a really good project will be offered to her.
