PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (September 7)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a tropical depression is expected to enter PAR while ITCZ will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (September 7, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A tropical depression and ITCZ will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the tropical cyclone has been last 1,525 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon and is moving southward at 20 kilometers per hour. The tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and a gustiness of up to 70 kph.
It is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning (September 8). However, the cyclone will not have a direct effect on the country and not expected to make landfall.
“Within 36 hours ay posible itong mag-intensify pa into a tropical storm category at habang binabaybay nga nito itong karagatan, ay mayroong posibilidad na mag-intensify pa, or magpatuloy na mag-intensify, at maging typhoon, posible yan by Sunday,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
The Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the entire country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
