In this article, we will discuss about the verb. It is the part of speech in English that conveys an action or what the subject in the sentence is doing. It is also called as ‘action word’.
Some of the examples of verb includes sit, run, shake, jump, throw, speak, drink, fasten, move, seal, eat, sing, etc.
Now, we will focus on the three (3) basic tenses of verb – the past tense, the present tense, and the future tense.
The tenses of verb show whether the action was already done, is being done, or will be done in the future.
PAST TENSE – Under this tense, the action was already done by the doer.

PRESENT TENSE – The verb is in the present tense if it is currently done by the doer of the action or the subject. It usually ends in “-ing”.

FUTURE TENSE – The verb is in the future tense if the action is not yet done but will be done in the future. It is often accompanied by “will” or “shall”.
