In an interview with the non-government organization Banyuhay Aotearoa, her Ate Ballsy revealed that she’s not out of the woods yet as she’s now battling at least four autoimmune conditions.

“She’s not even 90 pounds now, she’s like 85 or 86. For the other treatments that they want to try, she has to put on more weight. She has to get a little bit stronger,” says Ballsy.

The doctors are accordingly still trying to “give her the right, correct treatment”. She has a lot of allergies and she gets allergic reactions to these medicines and mostly, these medicines are not working. And if it would work, the side effects are not good.

And what accordingly keeps her fighting and continuing to fight amid the difficult times her health conditions are bringing her are her two sons. There was a time she was about to give up but she only looks at the photos of her sons and that’s already giving her enough energy not to.
