PAGASA Says LPA & Southwest Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area and localized thunderstorms to bring cloudy skies and rains over some parts of the country.
On Saturday (August 20, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 930 km East of Central Luzon. The localized thunderstorms will be affecting the other parts of the country.
The low-pressure area is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.
“Ngayong araw ay wala pong epekto ang low pressure area sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon, subalit asahan po natin ang mga localized thunderstorms, sa hapon at sa gabi ,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estreja said.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The weather agency has also warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro as well as the remaining parts of the archipelago will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
